Many people thought that the Dhurandhar 2 (or Dhurandhar: The Revenge) trailer would come out on March 3, 2026 (the day of Holi, a celebration of spring), but this did not happen as expected. Now, various news sources have reported that the reason for this delay may have had something to do with the Chandra Grahan (the lunar eclipse) taking place on that same day.

According to industry sources, the trailer was supposed to debut at 12 PM (a typical time for digital releases). Because the Chandra Grahan occurs at a time considered inauspicious for new beginnings or starting anything new; the producers decided to hold back the trailer from being released on March 3 until it became a more opportune time due to the timing of this event.

Fans have been posting posters and showing a lot of excitement about the possibility of having something released for Holi almost daily, but the promotional efforts behind the movie have essentially become nonexistent since the expected date is postponed now, which has left many people very disappointed.

Why Did the Lunar Eclipse Matter?

Some sources are reporting that the synchronicity of the film with the Chandra Grahan is what has contributed to its postponement, as opposed to any issue with special effects or visual effects being finalized before a production date could be locked down.

Jio Studios and the primary production house involved have not released any public statements regarding the specific reasons for the postponement that have been excluded from the released statement. As such, the continuing coverage and commentary regarding the postponement will continue.

According to industry insiders, there is no official date available for the trailer’s release, but there has been speculation that it may be released digitally on March 5 or 6, 2026, only days after the original announced release date. Most media reporting on the new release date has cited anonymous production sources involved with the marketing strategy to produce the new trailer, which indicates that the trailer will also be released digitally without a large-scale public event, but rather a minor public event.

Fans of Dhurandhar 2 are anxious for a full-length trailer of the much-anticipated sequel. Currently, speculation is rampant online about when this trailer will be released. Based on evidence from forums such as Reddit, the time period of the trailer release appears to be between March 5 and March 6 — however, these dates have not been confirmed by any reputable sources — therefore, all speculation should remain speculative until further confirmation is given.

The sequel is expected to have a theatrical release on March 19, 2026. Although promotional hiccups have caused some uncertainty with regards to whether or not audiences will be able to see the trailer prior to its release, there is still considerable interest in learning more about the tone and storyline for the upcoming film. Recently released teasers have reused previously released clips from the first movie to entice potential viewers; however, die-hard fans all want an original full-length trailer to get a clear idea of what to expect in this sequel.

With only two weeks remaining before the scheduled release date, it is imperative that the marketing department delivers original promotional materials soon enough to create buzz for the upcoming movie — especially now that other major motion picture production companies (i.e. Toxic) are re-evaluating their release schedules.

Audience Reaction

There has been a ton of good and bad social media talk from Hispanic communities about this Holi Festival. Bad talk has come from disappointed partners and fans for having to wait so long for the trailers release and bad reaction to news that trailers have been delayed.

Superstitious beliefs and marketing strategies tied to phases of the moon are nothing new in the world of film marketing in India. However, this delay caused by a lunar eclipse has created a lot of discussion about the impact of superstitions on modern film marketing.
