1. Kedarnath Temple, Uttarakhand

Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It is in the Garhwal Himalayas at a height of 3,583 meters. The structure was thought to have been made by the Pandavas and then remodelled by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of a lingam.

2. Badrinath Temple, Uttarakhand

Badrinath Temple is 3,133 meters up in the mountains, and it is one of the Char Dham religious places. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple was set up by Adi Shankaracharya in the 9th century and is very important spiritually.

3. Vaishno Devi Temple, Jammu and Kashmir

Vaishno Devi Temple is one of the most respected places for Hindus to worship. It is in the Trikuta Mountains at an altitude of 1,584 meters and is dedicated to the Goddess Vaishno Devi. It is thought that the goddess herself calls people to make the journey to the temple.

At 3,680 meters above sea level, Tungnath Temple is the tallest temple in the world dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It is more than a thousand years old and is part of the Panch Kedar religious route. According to tradition, the Pandavas built the temple to make up for their wrongdoings.

The Jageshwar Temples are more than 100-year-old temples that are all in the Almora area of Uttarakhand and are dedicated to Lord Shiva. They are thought to be one of Lord Shiva’s twelve Jyotirlingas and were built sometime between the 9th and 13th centuries.
