New OTT Releases Streaming This Friday

Ikka (Netflix)

Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna reunite almost three decades after Border in the courtroom drama Ikka. Deol portrays Arjun Mehra, a respected lawyer who values justice above winning cases. His principles are challenged when he must defend Shauryamann Gaur, played by Khanna, a man he had previously prosecuted, in a high-profile attempted murder case.

The cast also features Tillotama Shome, Dia Mirza, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Shishir Sharma and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (Netflix)

Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, this romantic comedy follows wildlife rescue officer Prajapati Pandey. His life becomes complicated after a former friend, portrayed by Sara Ali Khan, seeks his assistance.

His wife, played by Wamiqa Gabbi, and his colleague, portrayed by Rakul Preet Singh, mistakenly believe he is having an affair, leading to a series of comic misunderstandings.

Balti (SonyLIV)

Shane Nigam’s 25th film as a lead actor arrives on SonyLIV nine months after its theatrical release.

Set in Velampalayam on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, the story follows kabaddi player Udhayan, known as Balti, whose group of friends becomes caught in a dangerous criminal conflict after defeating a local gangster’s team during a tournament.

Parimala & Co (ZEE5)

Filmmaker Pandiraaj brings together Malayalam stars Jayaram and Urvashi in this black comedy-thriller.

Jayaram plays Parimala, a middle-aged Chennai resident whose family becomes the main suspect after a neighbourhood bully is discovered dead following multiple public confrontations with them.

The ensemble cast includes Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sandy, Santosh Sobhan, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy and Ananthika Sanilkumar.

The Invite

Directed by Olivia Wilde, The Invite is an English-language remake of the Spanish film The People Upstairs.

The comedy stars Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton as a troubled married couple whose dinner with unconventional neighbours uncovers long-hidden frustrations and uncomfortable truths about their relationship.

Moana

Disney’s celebrated animated musical makes its live-action debut.

Directed by Thomas Kail, the adaptation stars Catherine Laga’aia as Moana, while Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui. The film retells the journey of the fearless young voyager who sets sail across the ocean to save her people.

Evil Dead Burn

The sixth installment in the Evil Dead franchise is directed by Sébastien Vaniček.

The supernatural horror film stars Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Erroll Shand and Maude Davey. It follows a grieving widow whose visit to her in-laws’ remote home turns into a nightmare after the Book of the Dead unleashes demonic forces that possess family members one by one.

Aajo Ardhangini

Serving as a sequel to Kaushik Ganguly’s 2023 hit Ardhangini, the relationship drama revolves around Sumon, played by Kaushik Sen, his former wife Shubhra, portrayed by Churni Ganguly, and his current wife Meghna, played by Jaya Ahsan.

Although Meghna, Shubhra and Sumon have lived in the same city for two years without crossing paths, everything changes when Sumon’s younger brother invites Shubhra to his wedding.

Pinjar

Directed by Kolkata physician-filmmaker Dr. Rudrajit Roy, Pinjar tells the interconnected stories of Tarak, a bird-catcher; his daughter Jhimli; Paromita, a widowed teacher; Shefali, a working wife hiding domestic abuse; and Iqbal, a migrant Muslim man searching for acceptance in the city.

Dhamaal 4

Directed by Indra Kumar, Dhamaal 4 features Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi.

The comedy follows a group of carefree, good-for-nothing friends who are constantly chasing hidden treasure while repeatedly crossing paths with a determined police inspector and several eccentric characters.
