An accident at a building site in Gurugram’s Sidhrawali area on Monday evening killed seven workers when a wall that was still being built fell down. Several workers were trapped under the rubble when the building collapsed while still under construction. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and started a big operation to dig workers out from under the dirt and debris.
There was an accident at a construction site where workers were near a structure for a water treatment plant. Later, the authorities reported that many people had died or been hurt, and relief efforts went on for hours to make sure that no one was still stuck.
A wall collapses during construction
The accident happened late on Monday night while a group of workers was at the building site. Twelve to fifteen workers were in the area when, all of a sudden, a wall of the sewage treatment plant that was still being built fell down.
The fall caused dirt and other debris to cave in, burying several workers. The rapid fall of the building took everyone at the site off guard, and many were crushed before they could get away.
Unfortunately, the accident caused fear among workers and nearby residents when the huge wall collapsed during ongoing construction.
Workers and locals begin trying to save people
Right after the building fell, workers and people who were just nearby ran to help those who were stuck under the rubble. At the scene, people started digging through the rubble with their hands to find their coworkers.
A number of workers were pulled out with the help of other workers and people from the area before formal rescue teams came. Early escape efforts helped some injured workers out of the building, where they were taken to hospitals for care.
People were still searching for others they thought were buried under the debris, making the scene even more chaotic.

Rescue workers carefully searched the debris for workers who were stuck. Soil and broken-down building materials were removed using heavy machinery and hand-digging.
The authorities’ main goals during the operation were to ensure that all hidden workers were found and that the building did not collapse further. Rescue efforts went on for several hours as teams searched the area carefully.
Seven workers died, and many were hurt
The government stated that seven workers died in the accident. During the recovery effort, their bodies were found in the rubble. Jewaria said that easily, people from the civil defense, rescue, fire, and state disaster response forces arrived at the scene and started clearing away debris to free other workers who are thought to be stuck. Senior police and district administration officials have also arrived to keep an eye on the rescue efforts and speed them up.
Investigators who know about the case say they don’t know who the workers who died are yet. They told us that high mast lights and other important tools had been brought to the scene and that rescue work was already underway when this story was printed. Officials from the police said that a FIR would be made if they got a complaint from the families of people who were killed or hurt.
Several other workers who were hurt in the fall were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. When the workers were pulled out from the rubble, at least five were hurt. The wounded workers were treated by medical teams while police tried to find everyone who was involved in the accident.
