The upcoming spy-adventure film Alpha has officially set its release date in theatres for July 10, 2026. The announcement was made by Yash Raj Films, who shared an updated poster of the film on social media confirming this revised date. The poster shows that Alia Bhatt will be sporting a battle-scarred appearance, which provides a hint of the action expected from the film.
In addition to confirming its release date as well as confirming that it will release exclusively in theatres, YRF also put an end to speculation regarding where the movie could debut and if it would receive an OTT (over-the-top) release or would skip theatres.
Part of YRF Spy Universe
Alpha is part of the growing YRF Spy Universe, which has included past hit films like Pathaan, War and Tiger 3. This will be the seventh chapter addition to the connected spy thriller universe created by Yash Raj Films.
Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, this film should expand the YRF Spy Universe by presenting a storyline of espionage and female-led action.

Star-Studed Cast
This movie will feature Alia Bhatt in one of the lead roles and Sharvari Wagh, thus making it the first time both actors have shared the screen as well. The rest of the cast includes Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
Reports suggest that Hrithik Roshan will be revealing himself, and many assume that he’ll be doing so in the form of a cameo, following his character, Kabir—a government agent from the previous films, starring in them. This would create more of a connection to the wider Yash Raj Films (YRF) Spy Universe, uniting the current film with prior entries.
Also, Alpha has generated much excitement because it’s among the first major Bollywood female-centric action films within the espionage thriller genre and features Alia Bhatt,describing she and actress Sharvari are placed in the middle of a high-stakes criminal narrative with large-scale action sequences and extreme violence.
Additionally, Bhatt is making her debut with YRF. Finally, it was reported that Alpha was initially slated for release on December 25, 2025; however, this release was later pushed back to April 17,2026 and subsequently to July 10, 2026, at which time the studio had reported that they were fine-tuning the visual effects to ensure a world-class production.
Now that there’s a definite date set, fans can look forward to how this action film will add to the ever-growing YRF Spy Universe and beyond!
