Hero MotoCorp has introduced the Splendour Plus Flex Fuel, a bike that combines the proven reliability of India’s most famous passenger bike with a cleaner, more environmentally friendly fuel system.
Important Points
Fuel Compatibility with E20 and E85
The Hero Splendour Plus Flex Fuel is designed to work with ethanol blends containing between 20% and 85% ethanol. This gives riders the freedom to use different fuel blends based on what’s available. India is slowly building its ethanol fuel infrastructure, which means users of this bike will be better prepared to use safer and maybe even cheaper fuel options.
Fuel pump was updated
Hero has fitted the bike with a fuel pump carefully designed to work well with ethanol blended fuels. Because ethanol and gas have different chemical qualities, regular fuel pumps may not last as long in the long run. The improved part helps ensure that the fuel flows smoothly and that the engine runs well even when fuel conditions change.
Revised ECU Mapping
The motorcycle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU) is programmed with new information to make burning better when using fuels high in ethanol. Because ethanol burns differently from gas, the timing of the spark plugs and the fuel flow must be carefully adjusted. The updated ECU setting helps maintain smooth acceleration, low fuel consumption, and steady performance across a range of fuel blend ratios.
Fuel Filter Second Hand
Hero has added a second fuel filter to improve the fuel system’s reliability. Fuels mixed with ethanol can sometimes contain toxins or water, which makes filtering even more important. The extra filter protects engine parts, ensures better fuel reaches the combustion chamber, and helps the bike last longer.
Parts that work with ethanol
Some parts of the fuel system have been rebuilt to use materials that can handle higher ethanol content. Over time, ethanol can be more damaging than gas, so consistency is very important. These improved parts help keep the fuel system in good shape, stop wear and keep the bike running reliably for a long time.
Changes to the Engine Calibration
The engine has been recalibrated to run on ethanol containing fuels. This change ensures the bike has balanced power, smooth speed response, and good braking. Hero has made the Splendour more fuel-efficient while keeping it useful for everyday use by fine tuning the engine’s behaviour.

Details about the performance
Engine with a single 97.2cc cylinder
The Splendour Plus Flex Fuel has a single cylinder, air cooled engine measuring 97.2 cc. This engine, known for being simple and long lasting, has been modified to run on flex-fuel without sacrificing its usual usefulness. It can still be used for commuting in cities, short trips, and everyday transportation needs.
Power of up to 8.5 PS
When running on E85 fuel, the bike makes about 8.5 PS of power. It is built so that this output gives you enough power for riding in cities. It’s not meant for fast riding, but it has enough speed for easy travel, navigating traffic and everyday trips in the city.
8.3 Nm Peak Torque
The bike has reliable low speed performance thanks to its 8.3 Nm of torque. The torque delivery is tuned for traffic that stops and starts, which helps riders feel more in control and faster acceleration when travelling every day and usefulness is more important than speed.
Gearbox with 4 speed
Another great thing about the Splendour range is that all of their bikes have 4 speed transmissions. The clutch is made to be easy to use and save gas while riding. Its simple gear ratios make city travel easy and reduce the amount of long-term upkeep that needs to be done.

Features made for riders who ride every day
Semi-Digital Instrument Cluster
The motorcycle has a semi digital dashboard with the mix of digital and analogue screens. This setup gives riders important riding data while keeping things simple and easy to read. This makes it easy to keep an eye on important vehicle data while driving every day.
Built-in USB charging port
Riders can charge their phones and other gadgets while they’re on the go. Mobile access is becoming more and more important, and this useful addition makes things easier for commuters who use tracking apps or need to keep their devices charged all day.
i3S Technology
The Hero’s Idle Stop-Start System turns off the engine when it’s not in use for an extended period and restarts it when needed. This technology helps bikes use less fuel when they don’t need to, especially in crowded city traffic where riders often have to wait a long time at traffic lights.
Engine Cut-Off on the Side
The side stand engine cut off device makes riding safer by stopping the bike from moving when the stand is out in front of it. Riders who forget to lower the side stand before starting their trip are less likely to be involved in an accident thanks to this feature.
