Nita Ambani held a special event at the Swadesh main store at Eros in Mumbai on Friday to honour Indian artists and talented artisans and celebrate traditional craftsmanship.

Celebrating Master Artists
Some of the most prestigious National Award-winning artists in the country had their work shown at the event as part of The Master’s Pavilion at Swadesh. Artists like Shammi Bannu Sharma, who is known for her tiny art, Gunjan Jain, who is an expert on textiles and Odisha Ikat, and weaving legends V. Panneerselvam, GhanShyam Sarode, and Padma Shri Biren Basak all had pieces in the show.The goal of Swadesh is to support India’s living history, and each piece on display shows generations of skill and craftsmanship. Nita Ambani spent time at the event talking to the artists and looking at the detailed works on show. Nita Ambani wore a peacock-blue Banarasi saree from Swadesh that was made using the traditional Kadhua method, which is known for its strong weave and fine handwork. The intricate Meena designs on the saree showed off the amazing sewing skills of the people in Banaras.

Heirloom Jewellery and Personal Touches
She wore a shirt by Manish Malhotra that went with her saree.It had a fine polki border around the edge. Some of the careful details that made it stand out were the hand-painted goddess buttons and the old spinel tassel that came from Nita Ambani’s own collection. Nita Ambani’s jewellery was a tribute to India’s royal style and her own family history. She wore Kundan polki earrings that were more than a hundred years old, a handmade jadau bird ring from Swadesh, and a beloved haath phool that was a gift from her mother and a sign of family history.
In a post on Friday, the Swadsh Online store showed off Nita Ambani’s outfit from the event. Nita Ambani made a point of showing support for India’s artists through the clothes she wore and the way she carried herself.
