After the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 results were made public, there was a lot of debate. The trouble started when two women, Akanksha Singh said they had gotten the 301st spot on the test. The situation was even stranger when it was said that both candidates’ admit cards had the same roll number.

The sudden confusion got a lot of attention right away. The UPSC test is one of the hardest and most prestigious in India, and any issue with the results usually raises a lot of questions. As word of the two candidates spread online, many people started asking how two people with the same name and roll number could claim the same rank.

So far, the Union Public Service Commission has not made any public statements about what is going on.

Two People From Bihar and Uttar Pradesh

The two candidates who are in trouble are from different states. One of the Akanksha Singhs is from Ara in Bihar, and the other is from Ghazipur area in Uttar Pradesh.

As soon as the results came out, the Bihar candidate said she had passed the UPSC test and got the 301st spot. She said that this was her second time taking the civil service test. She said she had studied for many hours every day to prepare for the test and had worked very hard.

Soon after her claim received a lot of attention, Akanksha Singh from Uttar Pradesh also came forward and said she was the real candidate who had secured the 301st spot. She used social media to back up her claim and show proof that her name was being used incorrectly. It got more complicated when it looked like both applicants had papers with the same roll number.

People are interested in personal backgrounds

The Bihar candidate also talked about her family and the time she spent getting ready. She said that passing the UPSC test made a family dream come true. She said that to get ready for the test, she studied for eight to ten hours every day.

People also paid attention to her past because she is the daughter of Brahmeshwar Singh, who was killed in 2012 and was the head of the banned military group Ranvir Sena.

At the same time, the Ghazipur candidate sent out a video message telling her side of the story. She said she is a gynecologist at AIIMS Patna and is a doctor. She also said that she had used the same roll number for all parts of the UPSC exam, including the preliminary exam, the main exam, and the personality test. She said someone was pretending to be her and taking credit for the rank when they didn’t deserve it.

Details on the admit card raise more questions

When the candidate’s admit cards started going around online, the issue got even worse. People started to look at the information written on the papers.

Reports say that both accept cards had the same roll number on them. There were, however, some changes in the scientific details. Reports say that the barcode on one of the enter cards showed a different number, which made people wonder which paper was real.

The person from Uttar Pradesh said that reading the QR code on the admit cards could show who the real candidate was who was linked to the rank. Online claims say that when the QR code was read, the Ghazipur candidate’s roll number was linked to it. Even though these reports are true, UPSC has not yet made it public.
