The show’s odd plot and interesting group cast have caused a lot of talk. The fantasy comedy thriller with six episodes will be available to watch on ZEE5. This is another bold regional show for the platform.
The story takes place in Rayadurga and is about Prakasha, a xerox shop worker who doesn’t get much attention. His life takes a strange turn when the mysterious Thayitha joins with his old copy machine. When the machine starts making copies that can walk, talk, and remember, what starts out as a strange event immediately turns into chaos. A copy of one man sets off the events that lead to another
A little lie turns into a bigger threat. As strange faces start showing up in different parts of town, Rayadurga begins to fall apart politically, socially, and mentally. Behind it all, Prakasha watches as the line between the life he wanted and the life he set free blurs into something darker, weirder and impossible to undo.
Producer Daali Dhananjaya says, What interested me about Jerax from the start was how the story hides a philosophical punch behind an idea that seems strange. It’s crazy to think about a Xerox machine that can print people, but the emotional truth is very real: what happens when people don’t want to face their own shadows? The show looks at things like being alone, having power, feeling guilty, and how morals can fall apart in the quiet. We were drawn to its bravery. This is more than just a story or a dream. It’s a look at the parts of ourselves we don’t want others to see.
Jerax was born from a very simple fear: what if the version of you that you try to hide stood in front of you?
says Srinidhi Bengaluru, director and writer. In the show, the copies are not monsters; they are just shadows. I wanted to look at how identity changes, grows, and breaks down under pressure through Malavalli’s politics, relationships, and chaos. I didn’t want the fiction to be a way to escape; I wanted it to feel like it was a part of real life. It’s hard to hide who someone is when the extraordinary meets the everyday. That’s what Jerax is all about.
Prakasha is a man the world never really looked at, until he started making versions of it, actor Nagabhushana said. To play him, I had to step into a place where innocence, fear, love, and passion are all always changing. He’s not bad, but he becomes dangerous, and he’s not strong, but he starts to cause terrible things to happen. Jerax made me think about how weak people are when they can’t be seen, and how power can change that weakness into something uncertain. The fact that the character is hard to pin down is what made him both scary and more human.
