The controversial Babri-related event in Bengal took place the day before, when over 500,000 worshippers gathered in Kolkata for a massive Bhagavad Gita recital. The setting was full of love as people of all ages and genders recited together, making the city a place of faith and unity. The people in charge of the event said it was a sign of “Hindu awakening” intended to promote cultural harmony and peace. Many people at the event connected with their roots and shared a moment of faith.

On Sunday, a massive Gita recital event took place at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. This was on the same day as a banned Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA’s foundation stone-laying ceremony for a mosque in West Bengal’s Murshidabad, designed to look like the ‘Babri Masjid’ in Ayodhya. More than 500,000 people gathered to read the holy verses of the Gita at an event organized by the Sanatan Sanskriti Sansad. The event videos showed the Brigade Parade Ground shaking with the sounds of drums and horns.
Dilip Ghosh of the BJP told ANI that the performance was excellent and that the “mass awakening of Hindus” could be seen in the event.
“This is what happened when a lot of Hindus became aware. The last event was held in Siliguri, and 1 lakh people took part. Bengal also wants this performance because Hindutva is at risk… “The Gita can bring everyone together,” Ghosh told ANI.

During the mass Gita reciting event, Padma Shri awardee Kartik Maharaj, also known as Pradiptananda Maharaj, said, “Bhagavad Gita is the most sacred ‘granth’ of Hindus…”The Bhagavad Gita brings all Hindus together…This is part of an effort to bring all Hindus together…Saints from all over the country will take part in this program…
As part of the spiritual event’s planning, which aims to bring together followers from all over the city for a group reading of the holy text, the plan was put into action.
What went down in Murshidabad, Bengal?
On NH-12, a large event was held the day before to lay the groundwork for a “Babri-style” mosque in Murshidabad. Humayun Kabir, an MLA from Debra, led the event. His party, run by Mamata Banerjee, banned him for engaging in “communal politics.” He said that the planned building would be built “at any cost.”
Saudi Arabia’s religious leaders were on the stage, and more than 40,000 people were given biryani.
The event was set for December 6, the day that the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was torn down in 1992.
