At the Barcelona Fira Gran Via, covered in humidity, neon lights, and robotic assistance, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has been named the ultimate winner of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 under the category of Best in Show.
The honor was officially awarded on March 4, 2026 by Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) committee a panel of more than 200 independent analysts and industry veterans. When most exhibitors displayed the so-called vaporware of the far off future, the judges cheered Samsung to produce a device that is like the future, but is presently fit to be in the pocket.
The “Privacy Display: It is a Game Changer to the Commuter
The social intelligence of the S26 Ultra is the most discussed aspect of the phone rather than its pure power. Samsung has also launched the first built-in Privacy Display in the world, a case engineering success that does not require sticky, plastic screen protectors.
The S26 Ultra has a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, unlike conventional displays, which has a special pixel layout that tightens the viewing range at the command.
The “Cloak” Mode: When the side button is pressed twice, the screen is turned off to a very narrow 30-degree cone. Your screen appears as a black blank piece of paper to the person who sits next to you on the busy metro or behind you in an elevator.

Provided that it was in 2024 that AI reached phones, then it was in 2026 that it became agentic. Galaxy The S26 Ultra is powered by One UI 8.5 and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 of its own, which does not merely wait to follow your instructions but preempts and predicts what you might want to do next.
Nudge and conversational Bixby now
Nudge is the new Now feature that is a digital sixth sense. When you are chatting with your friend about a trip over the weekend, the AI automatically displays calendar conflicts and flights prices in an inconspicuous pop-up, and you no longer have to dance between apps.
Another way that Samsung has dropped the walled garden has been the incorporation of Perplexity AI into the system level. This enables the improved Bixby to respond to complicated, up-to-date questions in the manner of a research assistant, as opposed to the voice robot.
S26 Ultra, according to Stephanie Choi, the EVP at Samsung, isn’t merely a phone, but the agent of a person. It is meant to be useful but not intrusive enough that the industry has been in need of a needle to thread.

Photography: The most Light-hearted Camera ever
The 200MP sensor is the headline, but it is the glass that is the magic. Samsung has also increased the apertures throughout the board and the primary sensor is now an impressive f/1.4.
- Low-Light Dominance: With the larger aperture, much more light is able to get in and Nightography looks sharper than ever.
- Horizontal Lock: The improved Super Steady video has a horizontal lock of 360 degrees. The recording can be done with literally a full rotation on the phone and the video is still perfectly flat, a dream of action sports and vloggers.
- Photo Assist 2.0: It is now possible to describe edits using plain language. Rather than having to drag the sliders manually, you can just say to your phone: turn this rainy day into a sunset and remove the person in the background and the generative AI does the rest in a disturbingly realistic way.

Form Meets Function: The Slimmer Titan
Samsung has succeeded in making the Ultra its thinnest to date, and cutting the thickness to 7.9mm. In order to enhance cooling and lower weight (now under control at 214g), the company chose a polished aluminum-titanium hybrid frame. This modification, along with a redesigned and a bigger vapor chamber, keeps the phone cool even when it performs the intensive AI processing or the high-end gaming.
