With the opening of its 5th store this year, Apple is increasing its physical footprint in India. On December 11, the company opened a store in Noida, bringing its total to 3 this year. This makes Apple one of the top five smartphone names in the country by volume.
As part of a plan to quickly grow in the world’s second-largest smartphone market, the company will open a second store in Mumbai next year.
We truly love our Indian customers and this is a really big year for Apple stores in the country. We’re excited to open our third store this year and fifth overall, Apple Noida, and to be able to connect with even more communities, Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail and people, said.

Taking up more space
She said that the next stage of growth would show how committed the iPhone maker is to India. Next year, another store is planned to open in Mumbai.
This year, Apple Noida, Apple Hebbal and Apple Koregaon Park will open. We’re excited to make more meaningful connections and give more customers across India experiences that are only available at Apple, she said.
Apple Noida, which will be at DLF Mall of India in Sector 18, is another store the company is opening in India. O’Brien said- Our five stores, along with the Apple Store online and the Apple Store app, give customers even more ways to shop for Apple products.
Along with the growth, there is record demand and a production milestone. All iPhone 17 models and the Air are being made in India for the first time,” she said. “This shows how our relationship with the country is growing stronger. The Noida store opens at a time when the new iPhone series is getting a lot of attention.
Also, earlier this month, Apple added AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss to its list of services for the newest iPhones.
For over 25 years, we’ve been coming up with new ideas and providing great products and services in India, building meaningful relationships with customers and communities along the way,” she said. “This next phase of growth, with another store opening in Mumbai next year, shows our continued commitment to India as our retail journey grows with energy and purpose.
In April 2023, Apple opened its first two stores in India. They were in BKC in Mumbai and Saket in Delhi. Moneycontrol reported earlier that the two stores generated about Rs 800 crore in their first year, making them two of Apple’s best-performing stores in the world. The smaller Saket store accounted for almost 60% of sales.
The company has a large network of luxury dealers, thousands of multi-brand retail partners and sales through its online store and markets like Amazon and Flipkart. However, it has grown even more since then.
Since the first two Apple shops opened in India in 2023, we’ve changed the way we help people all over the country…We know that each customer’s journey is unique, so our teams spend a lot of time getting to know each person’s needs. “And we do that in India by giving people unique, customized options,” O’Brien said.

Apple’s retail strategy continues to prioritise talent development.
Apple Noida and every other store we open in India will have a dedicated team working to help these people grow. And because Apple is still growing in India, she said, “we need great people to join our teams.”
Apple’s story in India picks up speed.
Over the next three to four years, Apple is expected to keep growing at a strong double-digit rate. This will be due to rising demand for iPhones and a rapidly growing community of MacBooks and iPads.
Analysts and sources said that the growth will be boosted by more local stores, more expensive resellers, and a bigger manufacturing and supply-chain environment.
New RoC papers shared by Tofler show that the iPhone maker’s India sales rose 18.26% in FY25 to Rs 79,378 crore. Net profit rose 16.4% to Rs 3,196 crore, and experts expect growth to remain in the same range in FY26 and FY27.
Analysts say Apple’s next big growth spurt will come from higher demand in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and smaller cities. In India, iPhones already have a 9 percent share of sales and a 28 percent share of value. Apple’s growth in India is accelerating further with rising sales of MacBooks, iPads and AirPods, as well as a rapidly expanding network of Apple stores and authorised dealers.
In Q3 2025, India became the third-largest market for the iPhone, making Apple one of the top five smartphone makers in the country by sales.
With a 28% value share, the brand led the premium group. This was up from 22% in 2024 and was due to strong demand for the iPhone 16 and 15 series. The iPhone 17 launch has already exceeded early demand for the iPhone 16.
Analysts and industry insiders say Apple is expanding its network of elite resellers and opening more shops to capitalize on growth in high-street sales.
