Rahul Meena raped a woman in Alwar before breaking into the house of his old boss in South Delhi. The court sent him back to police custody for four days on Thursday.
Rahul Meena did not freak out after he was accused of beating, raping, and killing the 22-year-old daughter of an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) worker. He pulled her body to the floor below, broke the safe open and changed his bloody shoes and trousers.
Meena, 19, walked into court around 2:15 p.m. with his hands behind his back and a white cloth over his face. He was surrounded by Delhi Police officers. “Galati hui hai mujhse, apraadh hua hai. Pashchatap hai,” he told the judge, his eyes fixed on the ground and his voice weak. [I messed up and did something wrong. It makes me feel bad.
But police officers privy to the investigation say Meena was ‘calculating’
A police officer told ThePrint that he raped the woman while she was asleep and then dragged her body from the roof to the floor below to open the safe’s biometric lock.
Meena was arrested the day before from a hotel in Dwarka. He was caught leaving the home of his former boss, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, in South Delhi by CCTV cameras. Meena is the son of a farmer in Alwar, Rajasthan. When the IRS officer and his wife got home from the gym, they found their daughter strangled with a charge wire. Doctors later told the family and the cops that there were signs of rape.
Meena was a housekeeper for the family for about eight months. In March, he was fired because other housekeepers in the area had grumbled about him. They told his boss that Meena borrowed money from them and never paid it back.
After he was arrested on Thursday, Delhi Police found out that Meena had been arrested for rape in Alwar, Rajasthan, the day before.

Two days, two places, and one of them was Delhi
Rahul Meena went to a wedding in his home town of Alwar on Tuesday, two days before he went back to New Delhi. He is said to have sexually attacked a woman after the wedding.Through online Ludo, her husband and Meena got to know each other.
“The woman interested him and he wanted to be with her.” “She had turned down his advances more than once,” said another cop involved in the investigation. The woman’s statement was recorded by police on Wednesday, and she was medically examined that same day.
“He told his friends that he had to go to Delhi while the wedding was going on.” After he raped the woman, he took her phone and ran off to Delhi. “He also talked to a cousin in Gurugram.”

Meena got to Delhi and went to the house of his old boss in South Delhi
CCTV cameras in the area show that he came into the house at 6:28 pm and left with a rucksack at 7:22 pm. Police think Meena broke into the house using the spare key, which he knew about because he spent time with his family.
He went right to the roof after getting inside. This is where the daughter of the IRS officer was studying in a room. She is an engineering graduate studying for the civil service exams.
It was he who came in and told her to give him money. She said no. The woman told him to leave the house right away. “This made him angry, and he hit her in the head with something hard, we think it was a lamp and she fell down,” a third cop said. The cop said that the police think Meena raped the woman while she was asleep.
“He then dragged her body to the floor below, entered with the spare key, and used her bloody fingers to open the biometric safe,” the police officer said.
He used any tools he could find to open the safe when the biometric lock wouldn’t work. He then stole Rs 2–2.5 lakh and ran away. “He knew how to avoid being caught in one case and ran away to another city.” It is also important to know how he got into the house. The third cop said, “He knew where the spare key was kept and where the dead person would be in case he needed to get to the biometric…we think he was calculating.”
The police officer also said that Meena “did not run away in a panic; instead, he changed his clothes and shoes inside the house to change how he looked for CCTV cameras” after he was accused of the crimes. Police sources say that Meena took cabs to Palam and Dwarka to hide after leaving the crime scene. He was using the phone he stole from Alwar, but the cops found him because of “his internet activity and Instagram use.”
