Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Guwahati on Friday afternoon for a 2 day trip to Assam. He was supposed to have a program in Kokrajhar, but it had to be canceled because of heavy rain there. The quick change in weather meant that the Prime Minister’s plans had to be changed, and the event in Kokrajhar had to be canceled in the end.

Many of the growth projects that were supposed to be part of the Kokrajhar program were still launched by the Prime Minister, even though there were problems. So that the plans could go forward right away, these projects were presented through a video event from Guwahati.

PM Starts Two-Day Trip to Assam

The Prime Minister went to Guwahati as part of a trip to the state to look at ways to improve things. On his schedule were events that would improve facilities and connections in Assam and the northeastern area as a whole.

In the beginning, the Prime Minister was supposed to go to Kokrajhar for a public event. But because of bad weather and traffic problems, the visit had to be canceled due to heavy rain in the area.

The authorities changed the schedule so that the other programs could go on as planned. Because of this, the Prime Minister stayed in Guwahati and led the planned openings from a distance.

The Kokrajhar program was canceled because of the rain

Because it kept raining in Kokrajhar, the planned event couldn’t go as planned, and the Prime Minister’s trip to the area had to be canceled.

The schedule was set up so that the person speaking could announce a number of big growth projects and address the crowd. Weather problems, on the other hand, made it hard to keep the event safe.

Later, officials said it was official: the Kokrajhar scheme would not happen as planned. The project launches were instead done by the Prime Minister through videoconferencing from Guwahati.

Launched projects worth more than Rs 4,570 Crore

As part of the new plan, the Prime Minister started building projects worth more than Rs 4,570 crore. The main goals of these projects are to improve facilities and make it easier for people to get around the area.

The projects should help the economy grow and make services better for people in the area. Assam and other northeastern states are trying to grow faster, and these projects are part of that.

Officials from the government say that these kinds of projects will help improve transportation systems and open up new ways for the region to make progress.

Three trains were marked as not running

Along with the building projects, the Prime Minister also opened three new train lines during the show. These train routes should make it easier for people in different parts of the Northeast to get to each other by train.

The Kamakhya–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, the Guwahati–New Jalpaiguri Express, and the Narangi–Agartala Express are some of the new routes.

Better train connections should make it easy for people to move and improve connections between major towns in the area. It might also help trade and tourists by making mobility better.

The Northeast is still getting more development

The government’s attention on growth in the northeastern states is clear from the statements made during the visit. Building up infrastructure and making it easier to get around are still top concerns for the area.

The visit to Kokrajhar had to be canceled because of heavy rain, but the government made sure that the planned projects still went ahead. By running the program, the projects could almost move forward right away.

The Prime Minister’s trip to Assam is still going on, with more events planned to help the state and the Northeast area grow and improve their facilities.
