President Murmu, VP Dhankhar and PM Modi Extend Wishes on Telangana Statehood Day

The senior leadership of the country which includes President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President of India, C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered their message on the occasion of Telangana Statehood Day. On June 2, which marks the Formation day of the state, Telangana has received accolades for its vibrant workforce, culture and the swift pace of business and innovation development. 

The day is a poignant occasion that brings to the fore thoughts of the decades-long struggle for democracy and the countless sacrifices of the people of the youngest state of the Indian Union in the process of gaining self-governance. 

National leaders shower praise on Telangana

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) President Droupadi Murmu applauded the efforts of the state’s diligent people and its cultural heritage. She recognised the progress that Telangana has made in a relatively short period of time. 

Wishing the people of Telangana a happy statehood day! Telangana is blessed with a rich cultural heritage and hardworking people. The State has made significant strides in innovation and development over the years. I wish the people of Telangana continued progress and well-being,” President Murmu posted. 

PM Narendra Modi was also present to wish the state, emphasizing upon the business acumen of the people of the state. He reiterated the undivided attention of Central Government to making the state to move towards its upward growth. 

Happy Telangana Statehood Day to all the citizens of Telangana state. PM Modi said that “Telangana is a state where the people have a spirit of innovation and enterprise. The State is known for its glorious culture and history, one of courage and determination, to achieve the dream of a Viksit Bharat, the Central Government is committed to support the growth trajectory of Telangana and wish good health, success to the people of the State. 

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan reiterated this, noting the ingenuity and resilience of the people of the state. He said that Telangana has made a significant contribution to the overall development of the country and hoped that the occasion would be a motivation to all to work together towards realizing the dream of a developed India. 

Likewise, Union Home Minister Amit Shah wished the “sisters and brothers of Telangana” the best of luck and said the state would go to achieve new heights of progress and prosperity, thus boosting India’s pride on the international map. 

An Emotional Day for the State

In the state it was a celebratory and a reflective mood. A. Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister of the state, expressed his emotions to the public and paid tribute to all those martyrs of the movement for the establishment of Telangana state regarding their role in the movement.Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy delivered a touching speech to the public, honoring the sacrifices made by all the martyrs of the Telangana movement as well as looking forward to the future. 

The Chief Minister posted this at the time of June 2, the Telangana State Formation Day celebration, “Every year…Remembering yesterday’s sacrifices. Reviewing tomorrow’s goals. An emotional context June 2. Heartfelt wishes to all people”.

The day is a public holiday in all 33 districts. Typically, the official state celebrations include large flag hoisting, cultural programmes with traditional folk arts and paying homage to the activists who fought relentlessly for a separate state. The Chief Minister is the usual person to hoist the national flag at the central official event which is held at Secunderabad Parade Ground.
