A big accident happened at sea off the coast of Oman when an oil tanker carrying 15 Indians was hit near a major shipping path.  MT Front Eagle, was hit near the coast of Oman, forcing the crew to leave right away. Four individuals were hurt in the event.

The event has caused more worries about the safety of the seas in the area, especially since there are already problems in the Gulf waters.

Hit by a ship near the Omani water

News sources say that the oil ship was hit while it was going off the coast of Oman. There were 20 people working on the ship, and 15 of them were Indian. The exact cause of the hit has not been publicly proven, but the damage was very scary because the ship was near busy international trade lines.

The authorities are now looking into what happened and assessing the extent of the damage to the ship.

The whole crew got out safely

Quick action by emergency teams prevented the situation from worsening. Tankertrackers.com, a ship tracking service, said Skylight was a small tanker that was mostly used to power other ships. It said it had been grounded in Musandam province since February 22.

Four people in the group were hurt. Reports say the injuries were not life threatening, and the crew members who were hurt received medical care upon landing. The hurt workers are said to be in good condition.

The escape helped prevent a greater tragedy, especially given the dangers posed by oil ships and the risk of fire or environmental damage.

There are Indians on the crew

15 Indian citizens were on board, so the event got a lot of press in India. Officials are keeping a close eye on the situation and are in touch with the right people to ensure the affected citizens are safe.

There are often Indian crew members on business ships that travel between countries, as many Indian sailors work in global shipping operations. This event once more shows how dangerous it is to work at sea, especially in sensitive areas.

The authorities will likely provide more information as it becomes available about the ship’s condition and the injured crew.

Concerns about the safety of the sea

At first, it looked like four crew members had injuries of various degrees of seriousness.

LSEG data shows that Skylight is owned by Sea Force Inc. and is operated by Red Sea Ship Management LLC.

In December of last year, the US Treasury Department put sanctions on Red Sea Ship Management, Skylight, and other ships. They said that the management company and its owner were running a “shadow fleet” to move Iranian oil goods in the Gulf.

Maritime security agents are likely to overlook safety steps and make the area more closely watched. Depending on what the study finds, shipping companies may also revisit their routes and security measures.

For now, the main concern remains the safety and healing of the team members who were hurt, as well as determining what caused the strike.

More violence in the Middle East

The ship attack comes after attacks on Iran by both the US and Israel, which caused a sharp rise in tensions in the Middle East.

On Sunday, there was a huge blast in Tehran, the city of Iran. The Israeli military said it was targeting key places. In response to the death of Khamenei, Iran fired rockets and drones at Israel and several Gulf countries.

Leadership in Iran said that the “great crime will never go unanswered.” In response, US President Donald Trump told Tehran not to take any more actions in response, saying that any worsening of the situation would be met with unprecedented force.

Already, the war has made it harder to fly and keep the area safe, with air defence action seen in parts of the Gulf. There have been strikes and captures in Israel and a number of Arab states, which has made people worry about a bigger war in the area. Maritime officials and concerned countries are both keeping a close eye on the situation.

More information will be shared once the investigation into what happened is over.
