There has been a big incident in the Kathua area of Jammu and Kashmir. Security troops are fighting with guns with people they think are attackers. The fight started in the wooded Kamadh Nullah area of Kahog village, Billawar, after reports from intelligence agencies said there were dangerous people in the area.

Possible Terrorists- Three

The government thinks that up to three terrorists with ties to the Jaish-e-Mohammed group are stuck in the thick bush. It is said that these terrorists are well-armed, and the operation that is still going on is meant to neutralise them without hurting people.

The police start a search and cordon

The action is being led by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, with help from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Security forces have blocked off the area and are searching it thoroughly, even though it is dark and there is a lot of greenery in the area.

Locals said they saw one of the suspected terrorists, which made the situation worse and caused more help to rush to the area to help with the operation.

Tough terrain makes things more complicated

Kamadh Nullah is covered in trees, which makes it hard for security staff to move around and see what’s going on. Even with these problems, the troops are using combined ground searches to pin the rebels down.

The police are still putting pressure on the suspects to end the situation while putting the safety of the civilians first.

People are being told to stay alert

People who live close have been told to stay cool and not go into the contact zone. To make sure the action is safe and effective, local officials have asked security forces to work together.

How and why there is violence in Kathua

Because Kathua is close to foreign borders and has lots of thick forests, where suspects can hide and move without being seen, there has been some terrorist action there from time to time. Security forces regularly carry out operations in the region to stop threats from getting in and neutralise them.

Operation Going On

The meeting is one of the first big fights reported in the district in 2026. The security forces are still fully involved, sending out special units and extra help to make sure the rebels are contained and stopped.

More information about what’s going on should be available as the process goes on.
